Happy Christmas! From Jim Hawkins, and Oscar the Comedy Dog
I was talking to my friend Rose the other day, about how many Christmas cards we could send, if we put our minds to it.
The figure ran into the hundreds.
Hence, I hope you don’t mind if I take this option instead. Rather than send a forest-load of cards, I’m making a donation to Severn Hospice http://www.severnhospice.org.uk to support their work providing loving care to people with life-limiting illnesses, and their families, in Shropshire and Mid-Wales.
However, that doesn’t mean I don’t want to wish you a happy Christmas! I really do; I hope you and the people close to you have a wonderful, magical, special time, and that the new year is all you hope it will be.
Incidentally, if you need the perfect soundtrack to your present-wrapping activities, I’ll be playing three hours of the finest Christmas tunes on BBC Radio Shropshire, BBC Radio Stoke and BBC Hereford & Worcester from 6pm on Christmas Eve. It’ll be live and interactive, so feel free to text, email or tweet your Christmas messages to friends and family wherever they might be. If they’re further afield than the Midlands, they can listen online at the BBC Shropshire website http://www.bbc.co.uk/shropshire
And as Christmas cards need seasonal pictures, here’s one of me and Comedy Dog, dressed in red, surrounded by snow and sitting on a bench!
Have a brilliant Christmas – love, Jim
