Giving your event impact through natural rapport, skilful encouragement, humour, insight and curiosity.
My personality is part of everything I do. It’s what makes my radio work so successful, it helps make my portrait photography special … and I bring my personality to the hosting of the best events.
I’ve chaired panel discussions and public meetings on major local issues. It takes humour, knowledge and authority to host such events, particularly when the atmosphere in the room is highly charged.
I’ve acted as Master of Ceremonies or compere at a wide variety of events, from classical concerts and the Ironbridge Gorge Brass Band Festival’s annual Last Night Of The Proms, to the Shropshire Olympian Festival’s recreation of the Games held in Shrewsbury’s Quarry in 1864. For some years I’ve hosted the Christmas Lights Switch-On in the historic town of Ironbridge, a World Heritage Site.
For the last two years I’ve hosted the celebrity cookery demonstrations in the Food Hall at the Shrewsbury Flower Show. In 2010 the celeb chefs were the Hairy Bikers; in 2011, Gino d’Acampo.
My most recent ventures include hosting The Theory Of (R)Evolution?, an event showcasing forward-thinking ideas about the web, for ShropGeek, and the launch of Venture, a new networking opportunity for social entrepreneurs in Shropshire.
